Women for Election CLG is a company with limited guarantee. We are a not-for-profit organisation governed by a board of nine directors. The board has responsibility for the strategic direction and governance of the organisation.
We are committed to the highest standards of governance. The board and staff team adhere to strict governance policies and prudent financial management.
The board meets at least every two months. A Finance and Governance Sub Group and a Fundraising and Development Sub Group meet regularly to support the governance, oversight and strategic development of the organisation.
The board delegate the responsibility for the implementation of the Women for Election Strategic Plan 2020-2024 and day to day management to the CEO. We currently employ two full-time staff who work with a team of trainers and experts which we subcontract as needed to support the efficient delivery of training programmes and projects.
Women for Election continues to receive an annual grant from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage. In 2021 this allocation is €125,159. In addition, we rely on fundraising through our Countess Markievicz Circle of individual donors, other public donations and financial support from Companies and Foundations.
