As the General Election approaches, Women for Election are delighted to see that a record number of female candidates have already declared. Since our foundation in 2012 over 800 women have participated in our EQUIP and INSPIRE programmes. The results of our programmes have been fantastic, with high numbers of these women going on to successfully contest elections and run campaigns. Our EQUIP 2013 programme has produced the following candidates for the forthcoming general election, each of whom has the ability to succeed.
