Are you interested in housing, health, education, climate change? Wondering what you, as a Councillor can do?

Women for Election has joined with the Irish Development Education Association to provide this free training for women Councillors:

Political Leadership for Sustainable Development

Date: 19th October 2019
Time: 9:30am to 4pm
Location: Holiday Inn Express Dublin City Centre, 28-32 Upper O’Connell Street, Dublin 1

The job of Councillors is getting more complex each year. With rising concerns about the impact of climate change, tackling inequality and making sure constituents have access to housing, health and education services, there’s a lot to balance. The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals can help by providing a framework for Councillors to support decision making based on 17 Sustainable Development Goals that aim to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

This free one-day training for women Councillors will take you through the Sustainable Development Goals and show you how to use them to evaluate problems and implement solutions for more sustainable development planning in your constituency.

From local to international politics, it’s never been more important to approach development in an integrated and sustainable way – this training will help you lead the charge in your Council.

The training is free but you need to register to secure your place. Sign up now.

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Really looking forward to contributing to this training on #SDGs for women councilors on Saturday! Strongly encourage those from all parties & none to register - the SDGs are an important tool & frame - A great way to link local decisions with global best practice! https://t.co/TQ9DVPtobO

Nice to see Ireland in the top 10 on the #EIGEIndex. Sadly our politics score let us down at only 44.1 - our lowest score across all the areas covered. We might have made progress in the last few years but we still need a lot #morewomen in Irish politics https://t.co/0JpZspbsEi
