Are you interested in housing, health, education, climate change? Wondering what you, as a Councillor can do?

Women for Election has joined with the Irish Development Education Association to provide this free training to elected and aspiring councillors, students or anyone with an interest in leading change in sustainable development:

Political Leadership for Sustainable Development

Date: 18th January 2020
Time: 9:30am to 4pm
Location: Clayton Hotel, Lapps Quay, Cork.

The job of Councillors is getting more complex each year. With rising concerns about the impact of climate change, tackling inequality and making sure constituents have access to housing, health and education services, there’s a lot to balance. The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals can help by providing a framework for Councillors to support decision making based on 17 Sustainable Development Goals that aim to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

This free one-day training for women Councillors will take you through the Sustainable Development Goals and show you how to use them to evaluate problems and implement solutions for more sustainable development planning in your constituency.

From local to international politics, it’s never been more important to approach development in an integrated and sustainable way – this training will help you lead the charge in your Council.

The training is free but you need to register to secure your place.
