Due to the popularity of our last training, Women for Election has teamed up with the Irish Development Education Association again to provide this free training for women Councillors:

Political Leadership for Sustainable Development

Date: 23rd November 2019

Location: Hilton Dublin, Charlemont Pl, Saint Kevin’s, Dublin, D02 A893

(This training will also take place in Cork on the 18 January 2020, venue details and registration will be available closer to the date)

Testimonials from the last training:

“Overall excellent, not a wasted minute. The training is the right amout of ‘theory’ and practice.”

“I learned far more than expected. Mixing with other Local Authority elected members was of great benefit. Excellent, worthwhile training.”

“I learned so much about the 17 goals and how I might implement them locally.”

The job of Councillors is getting more complex each year. With rising concerns about the impact of climate change, tackling inequality and making sure constituents have access to housing, health and education services, there’s a lot to balance. The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals can help by providing a framework for Councillors to support decision making based on 17 Sustainable Development Goals that aim to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

This free one-day training for women Councillors will take you through the Sustainable Development Goals and show you how to use them to evaluate problems and implement solutions for more sustainable development planning in your constituency.

From local to international politics, it’s never been more important to approach development in an integrated and sustainable way – this training will help you lead the charge in your Council.

The training is free but you need to register to secure your place. Sign up now.

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
