We’re delighted that nearly 500 of you have joined us over the past while – since our Covid crisis began we’ve run training sessions on areas such as resilience, social media, and our political systems as well as hearing from politicians and public figures such as Ambassador Samantha Power, Ailbhe Smyth, Senators Lynn Ruane, Alice Mary Higgins, Pauline O’Reilly, Fiona O’Loughlin and from Deputy Mary Lou McDonald yesterday afternoon. They’ve joined us from their kitchens, offices, spare rooms, sitting rooms, back gardens and the Convention Centre.  Huge thanks to all our guests as well as the brilliant journalists – Dearbhail McDonald, Alison O’Connor, Colette Sexton and Martina Fitzgerald – who’ve put them through their paces. During our ‘Working Together’ series we’ve reached into homes across Ireland, the UK, US, Germany and Belgium. I hope you have found them useful and, in our own small way, we’ve helped make this surreal and strange time a little bit easier.

We’re going to take a little break from our online events until September – but if you’ve missed out on hearing from any of our guests, or would like a listen back, we will be releasing a podcast series later on in the summer.
We’ve a very exciting programme of training and events going to be coming up in the autumn, and we look forward to (virtually) joining you again.

All of our guests, facilitators and trainers have been great supporters of Women for Election and are doing what they can to support #MoreWomen in political life. I mentioned in our last newsletter that we all need to be doing our part – whether that is as an elected politician, a candidate, joining a party or donating to Women for Election – all of us need to be working to see more women in Irish political life.
